How it all began ... In the early spring of 1992, Rick and Vickie Kivett went and visited another area tractor show and had a great time. So, on the way home they got to talking about how they thought this would be something that we needed in Morgan County. They figured we would have a lot of interested from other area farmers and collectors, so they reached out to Chris Parker. At the time he was the Morgan County Purdue Extension Agent. One of his responsibilities as being an extension agent was to helpget organizations like this started, and he had the know-how and the funds to do it, so they started reaching out to others in the area to make it happen. In the late spring of 1992, they held their first meeting, elected officers and became what we call now The Morgan County Antique Machinery Association (MCAMA). Rick Kivett was elected as the first President, Bill Arthur was elected Vice-President, Kimbra
Hill was elected Secretary, and Chris Parker was elected Treasurer. During the Morgan Count Fair in 1992 they did not have a show or display but used that time to recruit new members and started planning for the future. The fair board at the time was an instrumental part of helping the club get going. We held our first Show in 1993 as well as had our first display at the county fair.
A few years later, on May 10th, 1998, the fair board gave us permission to build
the current building we are still using today on the fairgrounds to give us a permanent structure to work and function out of. We later added the sheds to both sides of the building and the concrete floors. Then in 2023, we added the grain bins, which was donated by the Shelton family, to use for storage and to teach the public about grain bin safety. This has allowed us to clear out the barn and have more room for folks to gather. We were also donated a large display cabinet that we had restored and currently use it to display our shirts, hats, and other items we offer for sale. It has been a beautiful addition!

I would like to take the time to thank the past Presidents and officers for their
time and effort to continue making this club the great organization that it is today. It
is due to you all that this club will be celebrating 35 years next year. Thank you for
your foresight and wisdom to push us through the bad years (2020 COVID)
and the good years and continue to help grow the club and to preserve the history of
agriculture and antique machinery.
I want to touch on one the most trying times of the club, as for many of our
families, during COVID. We had to cancel our show due to COVID restrictions. Sadly, November of 2020 into the first few months of 2021, we lost our President Dave Zoller, our Vice-President Nick Zoller, and our secretary Sandy Fields. We held a special election with the only remaining elected officer, Charlie Beaver, and our Board of Directors. It was a very trying time for the club as we had to regroup and rebuild, not counting the financial struggle of not having a show for a year, but we have come back from that bigger and better than ever.
As we continue to grow, we not only want to thank the past presidents and officers,
but our countless volunteers throughout the years that help make the Annual Show what it
is today. MCAMA Officers, members and an entire club of volunteers make it
all work like the fine oiled machines that we bring to display each year. Thanks again
to EVERYONE that has had a part in our organization over the years, and we look
forward to many more years to come.
Again, I want to give a big shout out to our past Presidents and officers for their
hard work and dedication to the club and making it one of the best in the region. We look forward to continuing to grow and serving the community for many years to come and preserving our history and heritage that so many have forgotten about.
2026 MCAMA President, Jeremy Bright
